JOB VACANCY DESCRIPTION

The individual must be both competent and knowledgeable in the full accounting application. The ideal candidate must be able to manage and supervise timely preparation of financial accounts, unaudited financial statements and tax and possess the ability to ensure internal and external financial reports are within established guidelines and government requirements.

Requirement

  • At least a Degree in Accountancy from a recognized university or passed the ACCA Qualification exams, ACCA’s Practical Experience Requirement (PER) and the Professional Ethics module of ACCA.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in preparing full sets of accounts and performing/reviewing tax computations.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading an accounting team.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks software is an advantage.
  • Good account relationship and planning skills with a proven ability to drive results.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively in team environment to ensure achievement of common goals and results, significantly influencing team’s direction and results.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort in developing and managing senior-level client relationships.
  • Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with persuasive presence and speaking experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Act responsively and flexibly to meet challenges.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal human resources and external contacts, even in the presence of competing priorities and viewpoints.

Responsibilities:

Clientele Base Growth:

  • Lead the accounting team to achieve operational efficiency, accuracy, customer fulfillment and drive corporate activities to achieve targets.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to elevate the level of accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of staff.
  • Prepare financial accounts, including unaudited financial statements, and compute taxes accurately and within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Handle complex jobs, including:

i. Book-keeping

ii. Preparation of unaudited financial statements

iii. Management of Tax and GST matters, such as computation of tax, preparation of ECI, performance of GST reconciliation, filing of GST, and handling of Corporate Tax/Personal Income Tax

iv. Management of payroll tasks, including CPF submission and the preparation of yearly IR8A forms

  • Liaise professionally with clients and relevant authorities on accounting and tax-related matters.
  • Ensure that clients’ requests and feedback, including queries, are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Provide the necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of business initiatives by collaborating closely with other departments.
  • Handle any other matters assigned as needed.

Staff Management & Growth:

  1. Planning and strategizing on the use of resources and allocation of jobs to achieve optimal usage of manpower resource.
  2. Training new staff in handling accounting jobs independently.
  3. Reviewing direct reports’ work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  4. Assist to guide Team Leaders in managing their team’s fulfillment.
  5. Liaising professionally with clients on accounting and tax related matters, and ensuringthat clients’ requests and feedback including queries are handled promptly and effectively.
  6. Continuously improve the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting teamthrough:
  • Initiating ideas and participating in their implementation to increase accuracy, efficiencyand productivity.
  • Active participation in the development/ enhancement/ implementation of systems and/or procedures.
