JOB VACANCY DESCRIPTION

• Responsible for day-to-day sample diagnosis in OCM lab.

Specific responsibilities:

• Handle the day-to-day diagnosis of lub oil and equipment in Oil Condition Monitoring Lab.
• Provide appropriate comments for diagnosis, possible cause and recommend action to various types of lube oil & equipment.
• Responsible to provide recommendations on test results, corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct diagnostic works related to lubricant condition monitoring on engines, turbine systems, gear systems, hydraulic systems, heat transfer systems, compressors, grease, transformer oil, etc.
• Preparation and analysis of reports and graphical representations.
• Compare results to identify if test parameters should be uniform throughout to identify potential failures.
• Investigate when test results are found to be out of specifications and review if a retest needs to be conducted.
• Identify if oil samples are contaminated through visual inspection.
• Participate in product development, development of new test methods and co-ordination of other inter-laboratory tests.
• Diagnose used lubricant & equipment condition, troubleshoot lubricant related failures and suggest suitable actions to obviate recurrence of such failures.
• Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
• Perform any task as assigned by the superior.

Requirements:

• Degree in Marine Engineering, Science or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of engineering experience dealing with Lubricants and Diagnosis.
• Good knowledge of internal combustion engines and their applications is advantageous.
• Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using quality management methods and tools.
• Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures is advantageous.
• Prior knowledge in these areas are advantageous: Video Photometer, Particle counter, TAN/TBN tester, ICP, Viscosity baths, Flash Point tester, Wear Debris monitor, PQ Index Instrument Foaming test equipment, Demulsibility tester, Karl fisher test equipments, Air-release tester, Direct & Analytical Ferrography, RPVOT, Rust Prevention Characteristics, Conductivity Tester, PH tester, Die-electric tester, Ruler for proper working condition by suitable maintenance schedule
• Training will be provided.
