Your future role

Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for a suitably qualified Design and Mechanical Engineers at our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Batam Indonesia.

As part of a significant long-term investment across our Global Operations, both in terms of engineering innovation and advanced manufacturing including robotics, Austin has several exciting opportunities for experienced, qualified and enthusiastic Design and Mechanical Engineers within our Global Operations Engineering team.

Role duties

• Work with the Global Engineering Department to provide application design and drawing package (Drawing, Part Details & Bill Of Material).
• Prepare detail shop drawing from the provided design and ensure the correct details are achieved.
• Meet with the schedule given by the Engineering Coordinator.
• Communicate with Engineering Coordinator and Team Leaders on workflow status in order to meet chargeability goals.

MANDATORY QUALIFIFCATIONS & LICENCES

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred or relevant tertiary qualification.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

• Work placement is based in Batam, Indonesia.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred or relevant tertiary qualification.
• Good communication in English language.
• Minimum of 5 years post graduate or relevant working experience.
• Minimum 5 years design to manufacture experience
• Comprehensive understanding of Engineering & Manufacturing of heavy industries business.
• Proficiency, knowledge and design experience in 3D modelling software essential, CREO advantageous.
• Experience modelling mining equipment such as truck bodies and buckets
• Ability to assess designs, interpret the needs of the customer and problem solve.
