About the Supply Chain Strategic and Improvement Manager (Mining) Role:
Under the supply chain management team, you will be helping the digital transformation of supply chain management process in the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that optimise the sourcing, procurement, transportation, and distribution of raw materials, equipment, and supplies required for mining operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials and equipment. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that may impact production
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation within the supply chain. Implement lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain, such as supply shortages, transportation delays, or regulatory changes that could impact mining operations
  • Integrate sustainable practices into the supply chain strategy, such as responsible sourcing of minerals, ethical labor practices, and environmental considerations. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards related to mining and supply chain operations
  • Evaluate and implement technological solutions such as automation, IoT (Internet of Things), and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility, track inventory, and improve overall operational efficiency
  • Work closely with mining operations teams to align supply chain activities with production schedules and requirements. Ensure that materials and equipment are available when needed to maintain smooth operations

To succeed in this Supply Chain Strategic and Improvement Manager role, you must have the ability to lead effectively and possess a keen understanding of supply chain processes in a mining company.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or industrial engineering or computer science
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in supply chain management of a mining company
  • Familiar with ERP applications (SAP, JDE, Oracle, Ellipse)
  • Familiar with data/business/system analysis, heavy equipment contractors, major dealer, manufacturing, logistics or consulting companies
  • Understands the integration process (material management, procurement, finance, plant maintenance)
